			<description><![CDATA[Hmm. The divide is obvious-it's not about black vs white here, though this is a very convenient argument, I really think it's a generational thing. Essence's target audience is age 18-49 yrs old. This means that their content is focused on ideas and issues that concern women that age. Love, make-up, hair, career, money and style advice. Maybe the smartest thing for the execs at Time Inc to do is to have someone that demographic finally run the magazine? Susan Taylor is old hat hon and times have changed, a 25 year old black woman doesn't want to be preached to...and she knows that many of her concerns are not that different from caucasian women her age. Yes, let's celebrate how Essence has evolved and stop crying that the white man/woman is holding us back! Also let's think of all the black brothers and sisters still working there? Separately, let's not forget that Michelle Ebanks, a black woman and the real boss, is the president of Essence Communications, hired in 2001. stay tuned...]]></description>
