SA and the USA: Conjoined Twins in So Many Ways

This article by Dr. Malveaux is certainly timely. Although the good academic is talking about economic challenges facing black Americans, she unintentionally describes parallel challenges facing the majority of South Africans under ANC stewardship of the country ironically. In both the United States and SA even the predictions for any improvement are dire given the global meltdown affecting world economies. And it is interesting that the recent atrocities in SA wherein protesting miners were shot down under questionable circumstances were reminiscent of the Sharpeville Massacres of 1960 have been described away by an African chief of police simply as "regrettable." Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose, n'est ce pas?
