For six days, 52 high school students from Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas were given a chance to live the life of a college student. Though many of the students were excited by the overall experience of spending time on the Robert Morris University campus, they also admitted the Black Male Leadership Development Institute taught them life lessons about personal development and what it means to be a leader.
On June 17, students in the Black Male Leadership Development Institute spent their day at Robert Morris University focused on the importance of pursuing higher education. A series of three sessions gave the young men a chance to not only dream about their future, but also create a plan to make these dreams a reality.
The hallway of Robert Morris’ Sewall Center was lined with parents, guardians, relatives and supporters waiting to catch a glimpse of their young men and give praise after a seemingly long five days.
