Unity week
SEPT. 17—Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 90 Port Perry Rd., North Versailles, will host a Unity service at 7 p.m. The theme is “Unity Year.” The weeklong services will run through Sept. 19. There will be various presentations on the subject in the form of drama, preaching, music and more. All are welcome. For more information, call 412-823-4049.

Women’s conference
SEPT. 19—Wesley Center AME Zion Church, 2701 Centre Ave., Hill District, will host their 2008 Women’s Weekend Conference at 7 p.m. The guest speaker will be evangelist Michelle Simpson. On Sept. 20 there will be a prayer breakfast with Pastor Glenda Sutton from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Pittsburgh Athletic Association, 4215 Fifth Ave., Oakland. There will be workshops and a lunch. The cost is $50 for adults and $25 for youths. There will be a ladies concert at 7 p.m. and a worship service with Rev. Kathy Brown Sept. 21. For more information, call 412-621-9612.

Showcase of stars
SEPT. 19—St. Paul AME Church, 1350 Locust St., McKeesport, will host auditions for their “First Fridays” Showcase of Stars at 7 p.m. The church is looking for people to share their God-given talents. They are looking for comedians, dancers, instrumentalists, mimes, singers and spoken word artists. The actual showcase is Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. The only fee is $5 for individuals and $10 for groups. Women’s conference
SEPT. 20—The Word of Life Worship Center, 300 Fifth St., Monaca, will host a Women’s Conference at 10:30 a.m. The theme is “Will thou Be Made Whole.” The guest speakers include Minister June Anne Garber and Evangelist Rita Sessoms. Speaker of the hour

Association luncheon
SEPT. 20—The Alumni Association of the Harty Bible School, 2601 Centre Ave., Hill District, will host their 56th annual Association Luncheon at 12 p.m. at the Comfort Inn Hotel, 699 Rodi Rd., Penn Hills. Church anniversary

Tent revival

Men’s prayer
ONGOING—Covenant Church of Pittsburgh, 2110 Andrew Dr., Wilkinsburg, will host “Watchmen On The Wall Morning Prayer” at 5 a.m. This is a morning prayer event to worship, praise, love God and bring men of all diversities and denominations together.
