This week I visited CJ’s in the Strip District, The Greater Pittsburgh Coliseum in Homewood, Robert E. Williams Park in the Hill District and Mr. Kenny’s on Fifth Avenue.
My first stop was at was at the Robert E. Williams Park in the Hill District where the Sugar Top Old Timers Reunion was held. Everyone came out to see old friends and neighbors from the Hill District. The food was great—thanks to Ms. Mary “Love” Harvey and it was great to see a lot of old friends.
My next stop was at the Greater Pittsburgh Coliseum where Curt Low Productions held their annual 14th Terrace Village reunion. Every year this reunion is packed with people from the old neighborhood. DJ Sly Jock was on the 1’s and 2’s and Curtis and Dot Lowery hosted the event.
My next stop was at Mr. Kenny’s on Fifth Avenue where Leah was celebrating her birthday with family and friends. Happy birthday, Leah, and may you have many more.
My final destination was CJ’s in the Strip District where the People’s Office and state Rep. Jake Wheatley of the 19th District held an event called “Karaoke Idol” which was hosted by songstress Teresa Hawthorne. This event was in five different places where the winner won $100 and now has a chance to win $500 at the Community Day event on Sept. 6 at Kennard field in the Hill District.
