The Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary honored a record 18 graduates during its 197th commencement ceremony held May 16 at North Park Church in Wexford, Pa.


Seminary graduation includes first-ever Servant of the Church certificate

The Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary honored a record 18 graduates during its 197th commencement ceremony held May 16 at North Park Church in Wexford, Pa.

Among the graduates are:

 
MARK G. DOTSON

Mark G. Dotson, a member of The Lord’s Church in Washington, Pa., who aspires to pastoral ministry following graduation. He lives in Homewood with his 13-year-old son, Geoffrey.

Norman K. Lewis is a member of the drug and alcohol ministry and prison ministry for Union Baptist Church of Swissvale, where he is a member. Following graduation, he plans to explore the possibility of a pastoral call and has a particular interest in working in a ministry with a Christian addictions model. Originally from Philadelphia, Lewis lives in Swissvale with his wife, Sheila, who worked for RPTS as a cook the last two years while he was a student.

Le E. Saunders is a community activist for Protect Our Youth Serve Elders, uniting neighbors in activities, talents, book clubs and rallying against violence, prior to coming to the seminary. She is a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church on the North Side where she lives and teaches Sunday School, helps with Adopt a Block with the mayor’s office and evangelizes for community development. Saunders plans to expand her church’s outreach to women and children within the North Side communities, unite women in biblical principles, and serve the Center for Youth and Children.

Scott A. Taylor of Wilkinsburg plans to continue to work with youths and reach inner-city underprivileged children. He works for Hosanna House in the youth department as a mentor, advocate and counselor, and is an associate minister at Bethany Baptist Church in Homewood.  


SHARON PORTER DENNARD

Sharon Porter Dennard is a member of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Pittsburgh, where she serves as minister of biblical literacy in Christian education. She established and developed Mt. Ararat Theological Academy, an adult Christian education program.  She is the first graduate in the seminary’s Servant of the Church certificate program.
