The Allegheny County Sanitary Authority is soliciting Bids for Contract No. 1404. Purchase of Chain For Grit Basin Channels. Proposals will be received until 11:00 a.m., Prevailing Time, Thursday, May 22, 2008 at the office of the Authority.

A non-refundable fee of $40.00 for reproduction of each set of plans will be required. An additional $5.00 will be required for each set of plans if they are to be mailed.
Proposals must be submitted on the forms furnished by SHACOG. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier’s check or bid bond in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the bid, made payable to SHACOG. PITTSBURGH PEABODY HIGH SCHOOL, REPLACEMENT OF FIRE TOWER DOORS, Project No. BI05-113-31—General Contractor proposals are requested for the removal of existing door and hardware, new fire rated doors, reinstallation of items as noted on plans, and relocation of all fire alarm and security systems. The deposit for this Project is $50.00.
The Contractor shall be prepared to start the on-site work as early as October 1, 2008 or as late as October 22, 2008 at no additional cost to the Owner. The entire work shall be complete, ready for use, within eighty-five (85) calendar days after the start of the on-site work.
PITTSBURGH ROONEY 6-8, DATA CLOSET VENTILATION, Project No. MS08-127-33—Mechanical Contractor proposals are requested to provide exhaust fans, ductwork and electrical work to ventilate data closets. The deposit for this Project is $10.00
The Contractor shall be prepared to start the on-site work as early as August 28, 2008 or as late as October 28, 2008 at no additional cost to the Owner. The entire work shall be complete, ready for use, within one hundred thirty-five calendar days after the start of the on-site work.
VARIOUS SCHOOLS, MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT, CHAIN LINK FENCE, Project No. GI08-001-31—Repair and replacement of fencing as required. The deposit for this Project is $10.00.
Work shall be for a period of fifteen (15) months commencing October 1, 2008 through December 31, 2009.   
Separate bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the Board Room, Second Floor, 341 South Bellefield Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213 at 2:00 P.M.
With the exception of Maintenance Agreement proposals, each bid shall be signed, sealed and accompanied by a certified check, a cashier’s check or the bid bond of an approved Surety Company licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of PA in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the base bid proposal. Maintenance Agreement proposals shall provide a bid bond of not less than 10% of the maximum yearly Contract amount. Check or bond shall be drawn in favor of the School District of Pittsburgh.
No Bidder may withdraw his or her bid for a period of one hundred twenty (120) days after the date set for the opening of bids unless extended by the mutual written consent of the Contracting Body and the Bidder.  Thirty (30) day extensions of the date for the award of the Contract may be made by the mutual written consent of the Owner and the Bidder.

Sealed Proposals will be received by Mt. Oliver Borough, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania for the 2008 Road Resurfacing Program:
Base Bid
The project requires the resurfacing of various bituminous Streets in Mt. Oliver Borough. The base bid includes approximately 6162 SY of Milling and Profiling, 847 tons of 19mm Superpave Binder Course, 6162 SY of 1.5’ 9.5mm Superpave wearing course, 305 SY of soft spot repairs, 4 inlet/MH adjustments and traffic control.
Alternate Bid A
An alternate bid will be considered that will include an additional 803 SY of Milling and Profiling, 110 tons of 19mm Superpave Binder Course, 803 SY of 1.5” 9.5mm Superpave wearing course, 40 SY of soft spot repairs, 1 inlet/MH adjustments and traffic control.
Alternate Bid B
A second alternate bid will be considered that will include an additional 1161 SY of Milling and Profiling, 160 tons of 19mm Superpave Binder Course, 1161 SY of 1.5 9.5mm Superpave wearing course, 60 SY of soft spot repairs, 1 inlet/MH adjustments and traffic control.
All Proposals must be in the hands Joanne Malloy, Borough Secretary before 11:00 A.M. prevailing time, May 19, 2008 and the same will be publicly opened and read immediately thereafter.
Proposals shall be delivered in a sealed envelope and clearly marked on the outside with the words “2008 Road Program”
Copies of Drawings, Specifications, Instructions to Bidders, General Conditions, Forms of Proposals and Agreement are on file and open to public inspection at the office of The Gateway Engineers, Inc., 400 Holiday Drive,  Suite 300, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 where sets of said documents may be obtained upon payment of $50.00 per set. No refund will be made for the return of any documents. Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds, along with Public Liability and Property Damage Certificates of Insurance in the amounts specified, as well as Certificates of Workman’s Compensation must be filed with the executed Agreement.
All rules and regulations pertaining to the PA State Prevailing Wages shall apply.
Proposals to receive consideration must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bidder’s Bond from a Surety Company authorized to do business in Pennsylvania, made to the order of Mt. Oliver Borough in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Proposal as a guarantee that, if the Proposal is accept, the successful Bidder will enter into an Agreement within 15 days after Notice of the Award of the Contract.
The Proposals must be made to Mt. Oliver Borough, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and shall remain firm for a period of sixty (60) days. No Bidder may withdraw his Proposal during the sixty (60) day period without forfeiting his Bid guarantee.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals, or any part thereof, for any reason, and also reserves the right to waive any informality therein.
