As McKeesport walked onto the field to begin the game it was sunny and blue skies.

By the time the daylight savings time sun disappeared and Light Up Night began, the Tigers season was over.

West Allegheny was locked in a close battle with McKeesport throughout the game. But rookie mistakes by first-year head coach Matt Miller.

McKeesport got of the board first when quarterback Jayvaun Shears 1-yard touchdown run to take a 7-0 lead.

West Allegheny quickly answered when Kenny White raced 70-yards for a touchdown to tie that score at 7-7.

Carlinos Acie sprinted 22-yards to give the Tigers a 14-7 lead.

“Not only is McKeesport’s scheme different and very tough to duplicate in practice, they’ve got some crazy athletes now,” coach Bob Palko said. “They’re pretty special. They’re a team that you watch them morph as the season goes, and man are they good.”

White ended the first half by catching a 37-yard touchdown to even the score at 14-14.
