Well-known soul singer, Frederick Anthony “Freddie” Jackson performed his career hits on Oct. 8, at the Homewood Coliseum, to a packed house of his shouting fans.

“Pittsburgh, thank you for a great night, ” Jackson shouted to the screaming fans.

At 59 years old, the legendary, soulful Jackson showed that he still has it as he had the women screaming as he performed his unforgettable love ballads, such as “You Are My Lady,” “Rock Me Tonight,” “Have You Ever Loved Somebody,” “Jam Tonight” and “Do Me Again.”

Concert attendee Oasis McClendon said, “‘You Are My Lady’ was released in 1985. I remember because that’s the year my now husband and I went on our first date, and that was the song we had our first dance to. Now, here we are years later, still dancing to it––Priceless.”

“I started out singing television jingles and background for other popular artists,” Jackson said. “Now I’m a solo artist and I’m happy. At the time that I started singing backup, I originally just wanted to buy furniture. I remember I had an apartment with no furniture in it. And I still had a full-time job, until the manager told me that I should let my full-time job go.
