PITTSBURGH, PA – The City of Pittsburgh Department of Public Works advises that the intersection of Grant Street and Forbes Avenue Downtown will be closed this weekend starting Friday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m., though Monday, Oct. 17, at 5 a.m.

The closure will allow for repairs to the brick and granite paving at the intersection.

The intersection will be closed to all vehicular traffic. If work is completed earlier, the intersection will be re-opened to traffic.

An eastbound detour will be provided from Grant Street to Fourth Avenue to Ross Street to Fifth Avenue. For Grant Street westbound, the detour will be left onto Fifth Avenue to Ross Street to Third Avenue. Pedestrians will have access to all adjacent buildings and businesses.

The work is being performed by A. Merante Contracting Inc. as part of the Renovations of Brick Roadway and Crosswalks in the Central Business District project.

When traveling through the work area, please use caution and expect delays.

Questions concerning the closure may be directed to Brian Schull of SAI Consulting Engineers Inc. at 412-392-8738.
