The anticipation of an exciting week of special services was not disappointing as the Vermont and Pittsburgh delegates merged at Pentecostal Temple COGIC,  in East Liberty, to be a part of the Vermont Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction’s 22nd Annual Holy Convocation.

The spirit-filled event, scheduled every August, is enjoyed and supported by the Pittsburgh community as stated by Pentecostal Temple Pastor and Jurisdictional Prelate Bishop Loran E. Mann. He further stated that there is always a blessing for all when “God’s sons and daughters come together in worship…  as one…regardless of your church’s title.”

Each day, the 11 a.m. Morning Manna service was conducted by the prolific Bible Revelator, Evangelist Beverly Vaughn, of Connecticut, who provided the spiritual catalyst that impacted the hearts and minds of all who attended.

The evening services featured noted recording artist Douglas Miller, of Ohio,  who introduced and sung his newest gospel rendering as well as psalmist Damon Little, of Baltimore, and Pittsburgh’s own Minister Curtis Lewis Jr. Musicians and choirs from area churches also participated to experience the week’s high praise.

The preached Word was offered by several guest speakers that included Rev. George Matthews, founding pastor of New Life Interfaith Ministries in Bessemer, Ala.; Bishop Roger Hairston, founding pastor of Temple Of Faith COGIC, Columbus, Ohio; and Bishop David L Herron, prelate over the Ohio Central East Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the COGIC. Supervisor Of Women Mother Lillian Gray preached the Women’s Day service. Bishop Mann concluded with his Official Day Sermon by emphasizing the convention’s theme, “Rediscovering Unity.”
