There will definitely be a couple of new faces on the next season of “Real Housewives of Atlanta”!
After weeks of rumors that Demetria McKinney would be joining th cast–and even going to a cast event earlier this month–E! News reports the singer/actress has officially signed on for season 7 of “RHOA”! Both E! and Bravo are owned by NBC Universal, so you know this is some inside info.
Demetria’s got a full-time contract for the show, so expect to see her holding a peach in the opening credits when the show returns later this year. After Kandi Buruss and Cynthia Bailey, Demetria will be the third previously famous woman to become a housewife.
There’s also been chatter that Claudia Jordan would be joining the cast, but not quite in the same capacity.
According to E!, Claudia may be getting the Marlo Hampton deal because she’ll be popping for recurring appearances. This could be interesting considering the fact that both she and Porsha Williams have joined “The Rickey Smiley Morning Show.”
As Bravo welcomes two new ladies to Atlanta, the network will also be waving goodbye to another one. US Weekly reports that season 7 of “RHOA” will be Nene’s last go ’round. Although, she’s already stated that she’s leaving the show, sources confirmed that she will leave the show at the end of the season.
In other “RHOA” news, The Jasmine Brand reports that Phaedra Parks’ husband Apollo Nida has just been slapped with a$1,948,314.85 million lien from the federal government. He incurred the financial penalty as part as a result of his conviction on charges that he was the mastermind behind a huge identity theft scheme.
