Entrepreneur’s Growth Conference
JUNE 5—Duquesne University’s Small Business Development Center will host its 16th Annual Entrepreneur’s Growth Conference at 600 Forbes Ave., Uptown. There will be 15 different breakout workshop sessions, a Meet the Expert luncheon, a business trade show and a keynote address from Stan Sheetz, chairman of the board for Sheetz will share his story of “Finding and Celebrating Success: What I Have Learned Along the Way.” This is for entrepreneurs who are just starting out as well as those looking to grow their companies. Members’ Mixer
JUNE 5—The African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania will host its Members’ Mixer from 5-7 p.m. at Community College of Allegheny County, Byer Hall, 808 Ridge Ave., North Shore. The host will be the new president Quintin Bullock. Guests must wear a pin and bring business cards. Registration is requested. First Step
JUNE 6—The University of Pittsburgh Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence will host its “The First Step: Mechanics of Starting A Small Business’ from 7:30-10 a.m. at the University of Pittsburgh, Mervis Hall, Oakland. Individuals interested in starting a business will learn the basics, such as exploring the size of one’s market, what marketing tools are needed to attract customers and more. Open House
JUNE 9—Chatham University’s Center for Entrepreneurship will host an Open House from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Chatham University, the Mellon Board Room, Woodland Rd., Shadyside. Interested guests will have the opportunity to meet with staff, facilitators and past participants while learning about their services for women business owners and women in business. Lunch and Learn Series    
JUNE 15—The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh Downtown & Business Branch will host its Lunch and Learn Series at 12:15 p.m. at 612 Smithfield St., Downtown. The topic will be “Small Business Research.” Rachel Masilamani, of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, will facilitate this comprehensive seminar for individuals interested in stating a business sin Pennsylvania.
