The days are getting a little longer and the nights are getting a little warmer so you know that it’s summer cinema time. The popcorn and soda faithful have a nice slate of action packed flicks to choose from with giant monsters, robots, mutant apes and several kinds of super human leading the pack. There is a little romance, music and child’s play thrown in for good measure but this summer movie season is all about mangled metal and mayhem on a large scale. Are you ready?

“GODZILLA”

The gang’s all back as they travel to a wedding in Las Vegas. But plans for a romantic weekend go awry when their various misadventures get them into some compromising situations that threaten to derail the big event.

Mark Wahlberg takes over from former leading man Shia LeBeouf in this fourth installment of the “Transformers” franchise. Wahlberg plays an auto mechanic who resurrects Optimus Prime and inadvertently harkens the return of the Decepticons.

In the future a young, destitute human woman gets targeted for assassination by the Queen of the Universe, and begins her destiny to finish the Queen’s reign.

Starring: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, Dolph Lundgren, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford

Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team come face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill… or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables — but Barney has other plans.
