I remember when heroin sold for 25 cents.

I remember when a federal informer was shot and transported to Bigelow Blvd. and covered with a piece of cardboard, but a curious motorist stopped and saved his life.

I remember the drug dealers chanted, “damn the police, the money is long and the time is short.”

I remember certain police, lawyers and judges got paid, after all it was a monkey situation.

I remember certain White and colored police protected certain dealers for a share of the profits.

I remember one night at Kennard field our quarterback ceased calling the signals and we looked around; he was high and nodding.

I remember almost half of the players became drug addicts.
