Jazmine Phillips-Acie, a senior at Plum Senior High School with more than a 4.0 grade point average, was recently accepted into Harvard University through its Restrictive Early Action program, which allows students to apply by Nov. 1 and if admitted, do so without an obligation to be enrolled.
She plans to major in Economics, and then attend law school after.
Phillips-Acie said, “I’m very excited. It’s been a dream of mine to attend Harvard since I was 8 years old; so it’s a great feeling to make it a reality.”
She is the Plum High School student council treasurer; editor of the Plum Highlights, the student paper; a member of the National Honor Society and the school’s dance team; a regional and national competitive dancer; all while taking seven advance placement courses.
To other young people she says, “If you shoot for the moon, you’ll land on the stars” and “always put your best foot forward in school and any other types of endeavors.”
