Giving folks a break from their busy holiday prep, The Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra Annual Holiday Celebration returned to the Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild for their first holiday celebration Dec. 14.

Artistic Director of the Orchestra, Sean Jones, said, “We want to try to recreate the spirit of what the holiday is all about.”  This very popular concert spread Christmas cheer and old favorites received a jazz makeover, as the skilled musicians of the PJO rendered a new treatment on holiday classics, and turned the holiday season into a unique celebration of wonder, bliss and merriment for the whole family to enjoy.

With featured vocalist Freddy Cole, who The New York Times said, “has an impeccable sense of swing…he is, overall, the most maturely expressive male jazz singer of his generation, if not the best alive.”
