Highmark First Night
DEC. 31—The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust will host Highmark First Night 2014 from 6 p.m.-12 a.m. at various locations throughout the Cultural District. This is the biggest New Year’s Eve celebration in the city. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the family-friendly event. The evening will feature a performance from soul, R&B and funk sensation Charles Bradley, along with over 150 events, children’s activities and music for all tastes. SAVOY NYE 2014
Dec. 31—Savoy will host SAVOY NYE 2014 hosted by actor Morris Chestnut at 2623 Penn Ave., Strip District. Enjoy a special evening with “The Best Man” and “The Best Man Holiday” star Morris Chestnut. JAN. 8—UPMC East will host its Monroeville-Mall Walker Program Screening and Education Event from 7-9:30 a.m. at Monroeville Mall, Lower Level, 200 Mall Circle Dr., Monroeville. Free Career Development Classes
JAN. 15—Pennsylvania Women Work will host free Career Development & Computer Classes through the New Choices Program from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Homewood YWCA, 7140 Bennett St., Homewood. This will be a five-week course that will focus on Microsoft Word, career development, resume writing, goal setting, personality testing, networking and more. Registration is requested.
