Operation Safety Net

DEC. 21—Operation Safety Net and Pittsburgh Mercy Health System will host its annual Candlelight Memorial Service at 7 p.m. at Fort Pitt Boulevard at Grant Street, Downtown. This is a service to remember people who died while homeless in Allegheny County. There will be brief remarks, prayers and selections by the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church Men’s Choir. Schenley Christmas Party

DEC. 27—The Schenley All Class Reunion Committee will host its 42nd Annual Christmas Party from 8 p.m.-2 a.m. at the Greater Pittsburgh Coliseum, 7310 Frankstown Ave., Homewood. This is a 21 and over event. For more information, call Arval Lewis at 412-512-3239 or email schenleyspartans@gmail.com.

Kwanzaa Event

DEC. 28—The Community Empowerment Association will host the 19th Annual Kwanzaa 2013 from 3-9 p.m. at the Arts, Cultural and Training Institute, 7120 Kelly St., Homewood. The evening will include African dancing, children’s activities, Amir Rashad the storyteller, The Ibeji Drum Ensemble, BALAFON West African Drum Ensemble, Community Building Awards and more. Jammie Jam 2014

DEC. 31—Macaroni Kid of Pittsburgh LLC., will host its “Jammie Jam 2014-New Year’s At Noon” Celebration at 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Latitude 40 Entertainment Destination, 200 Quinn Dr., Robinson. ­Children in the Pittsburgh area will have the chance to party like a rockstar and are encouraged to dress up in their ­favorite pajamas. Coat Drive

ONGOING—The Make Up Bar, Windy’s Boutique, Room 42 and Dallure Trends will host the Share the Warmth Coat Drive. Coats will be collected through Dec. 20 at Windy’s Boutique in the South Side and Dallure Trends on South Main Street in Pittsburgh. On Dec. 21, coats will be distributed from 1-5 p.m. There will be holiday refreshments, a live DJ, pictures with Santa and more.
