It is official, the holiday season is here. This week kicks off the yuletide shopping period with Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday.  In preparation for the big weekend several female business owners in the area are getting ready, focusing on November 30th Small Business Saturday.

Sales and special events will be taking place at Culture Cloz Boutique, Posh Nails Boutique, Roxanne’s Take-Out and Catering, Sircles Accessories and Something Borrowed Boutique.

“This is exciting,” said Rukiya McNair owner of Culture Cloz Boutique. “This is my first experience with Small Business Saturday. I have only been open since September.” Located at 117 North Highland Avenue in East Liberty, McNair describes her boutique as a global Fairtrade and handmade community. She says she sells a variety of handmade and fair trade clothing, shoes, accessories and natural hair care products.  Cognizant of the environment, McNair pointed out that a lot of her items such as the jewelry she makes, clothing, sneakers and hair products are handmade.  On Saturday she is offering 20 per cent off shoes and jewelry. “I have been working hard creating jewelry to assure that I am prepared for that day.”
