BILL NEAL

:10 For all you haters out there, and you know who you are, do you really think “Kobe” is not coming back like a man possessed?  Do you actually think he’s just going about his day-to-day business as if the whole world is not watching?  OK, OK, OK let me try one more time. Deep down in your jealous…“I could have been a star”…heart…you truly believe that one of the 10 greatest players of all time (that’s right I said it!) is just sitting around on his butt allowing history to somehow magically give him his greatness??? No – You – Do – Not!  He will return, and mark my word, greater than you last saw him, and that my friend, “You can take to the bank!”

:09 I could go on and on and on and on about the Pitt football team, but I won’t. I promise. But I will tell ya this. Clearly, they have the same offensive line the Steelers have, they just change the shirts.  Secondly, if you’re losing the game and time is running out, throw the ball to your two elite wide receivers.  And here’s the tricky part— throw the ball in the end zone, not in the middle of the field.  Give your stars a chance to be stars.  Double coverage or not.  You know, the same way Georgia Tech did to us! I am just saying!

:08 All I can tell you is, if you’re gay or want to be gay, you better stay your sweet butt out of Russia. They have a law that says you can’t be gay and that’s that.  Hope they don’t come up with a law that says you can’t be Black. That one would be hard to hide. C’mon Russia!!!

:07 Yeah, the Boston Red Sox won their third title in 10 years.  Big deal. The Pirates would have beat them…well, maybe not, but I don’t like anything from Boston but the Baked Beans.

:06 By now you know that Devin Street, a little known two star receiver out of Bethlehem, Pa., is not only the all time leading receiver for the University of Pittsburgh, but he only needs 370 yards to become the leader in receiving yards, passing Antonio Bryant, Larry Fitzgerald and Latef Grim. Who knew?

:05 It’s just a matter of time before you’re going to have to divide your time between the men and women’s basketball program at Pitt.  In case you’ve been under a rock the last year, you know that Susie McConnell-Serio is the new women’s coach at Pitt.  Given her historic, star studded and highly acclaimed resume, you can expect and will get Pitt’s ACC and national ranking soon. Very soon.  The fact that she has already landed three of the top 100 players in the country won’t hurt either.

:04 My partner, Charles “Buddy” Allie just returned from Brazil with more gold to add to his track credentials. I’ll have details for you soon. Stay tuned.

:03 The Pittsburgh Old Timers won their second game in a row. Bum Coates, Roebuck and Big Bill continue to roll on.

:02 Darrell Wallace Jr. is the first Black man to win a NASCAR race since Wendell Scott did it 50 years ago. If you can find it, Richard Pryor played Scott in a movie years ago called “Greased Lightning.” Congratulations Darrell, keep up the good work,  stay in the fight,  we’re all counting on ya. You make us proud!…Ya’ll know that’s all I got. I am proud of the brother, but I wouldn’t know a NASCAR race if it ran me over.  (Say what?)

:01 So, you thought that the Champions Association bringing former World Heavyweight Boxing Champion Michael Moore to the Willie Stargell MVP Awards Banquet was huge.  This year is going to be huger…Huh? Federal Court Judge Reggie B. Walton is coming home, Greg Lloyd is coming, state Rep. Ed Gainey, Chief Executive Rich Fitzgerald and Mayor Elect Bill Peduto are on board. Then you get the regional and national track and field champions from the Penn Hills Eagles Track Club.

And that’s not counting Connie Hawkins League Hall of Fame inductees Henry Chapman, Roy Dean, Chip Harris, Mark McCloud and Marcus Robinson.  Then you add in the top ten high school student athletes in Western Pa. and top all that off with the 2013 Willie Stargell Pittsburgh and Allegheny County MVPs (Most Valuable People) and you’ve got the makings of something historic.  The date is set so mark your calendars for Saturday, Dec. 7, 6 p.m. cocktail reception, 7 p.m. dinner and 8 p.m. awards presentation. All at the fabulous Wyndham University Center Hotel, in Oakland.  Call the Champions today to secure your ticket 412- 628-4856.

:00 Rebecca Nuttall ours is not to be denied…I will find you, as God is my witness. I will find you!!!  (Tears… Heavy Sigh, Blank Look, Lights Out, Scene Over!!!)

~ GAME  OVER ~
