Jazz Jam

CJ’s Restaurant & Lounge presents “The Roger Humphries & RH Factor Jazz Jam Session” at 8 p.m. at 2901-2911 Penn Ave., Strip District. There will be live jazz and fun every Thursday night. Pittsburgh Improv Jam

HOLDUP in the HOOD

The Pittsburgh Cultural Arts presents HOLDUP in the HOOD at the 707 Penn Gallery, 707 Penn Ave., Cultural District. The exhibit by Francis Crisafio, is a personal and communal exploration of self. It incorporates drawings, recycled photographs and print media as well as body gestures to explore race, classes and gender. The exhibit will be run through Nov. 3. It is free and open to the public. The Playwrights Theatre presents “SOLD: Renn Woods in Concert” at 8 p.m. at 937 Liberty Ave., Cultural District. The play is Rhythm & Blues is written by and stars Renn Woods, former child star, actress and singer, and is adapted from her autobiographical one woman show “A Diva Like Me.” Woods has starred in the television mini series “Roots.” The show will run through Oct. 20.
