Summary: Provides general support to the curatorial department related to collections care and the temporary exhibitions.
Reports to: Director of Curatorial Affairs
Hours: Monday – Friday, occasional evening and weekend work Full-time, non-exempt with benefits
•Assist with all facets of temporary exhibition administration and installation
•Assist with logistics related to publication of exhibition catalogues and other interpretive publications generated by the curatorial staff
•Coordinator of Frick Art Museum docents which includes scheduling docents, providing research and training materials, and arranging docents for private tours
•General administrative support for the curatorial department, including working with events committee, monthly attendance reporting, and assisting with oversight of the departmental budget
•Act as recording secretary and coordinator of Collections and Programs Committee meetings
•Develop competency with collections database and assists with data entry and other clerical tasks related to the database as needed
•General research related to collections and exhibitions
•Assist with audio tours, social media posts, gallery talks, tours, and other programs
•Maintain Exhibition History Database, and other departmental records
•Purchase general office supplies as well as specialized curatorial and archival supplies
•Other duties as requested by management
•BA in Art History, Fine Arts, Museum Studies, History, or related field
•Excellent planning, communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail
•Strong writing and editing skills
•Ability to multi-task efficiently and work in a deadline-sensitive environment
•Windows computer experience essential. Proficiency in Excel, Publisher, Photoshop, Filemaker Pro, Adobe Acrobat, and database management desirable
•Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with both colleagues and visitors
•Experience with artifact handling and installation desirable
•Knowledge of museum practices and registration policies desirable
•Valid PA driver’s license
•Ability to lift twenty-five pounds
•Clearance of a criminal background check
