ON BROADWAY—Karren Little, Stephanie Durrett, Laura Wilkins, Priscilla Lee and Sherrian Mitchell

A recent trip to New York via SD Transit included a lot of firsts for many of the passengers and owner Stephanie Durrett, the SD in SD Transit Company.

TRAVELING FRIENDS—Lois Rush, Sharon Washington, Mildred Smith, Jacqueline Taylor, Teresa Johnson and Barbara Dickerson. Their last trip to New York together was to see “Dreamgirls.”

This was the maiden voyage for the big black and white tour bus and a first time trip to Broadway for a few of the passengers. The destination was the Saturday evening performance of “Motown The Musical” at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre and a little shopping along the way.

REUNITED AFTER 45 YEARS—Wanda Royall and Phyllis Johnson

One group of ladies on the trip used to work together and had not been to New York together since their trip to see the original production of “Dreamgirls.” Wanda Royall, who lives in Pittsburgh, went to Cheyney State College with Phyllis Johnson and they had not seen each other since their days at Cheyney. This trip gave them the chance to reunite after 45 years.

The trip was drama free and Durrett is planning her next voyage to see “Kinky Boots” in October. All those going are hoping to see Pittsburgh native Billy Porter still playing the lead role.
