“I Have A Dream” Anniversary ­Celebration

InterPlay Pittsburgh presents the “I Have A Dream” 50th Anniversary Celebration at 6:30 p.m. at The Alloy Studios, 5530 Penn Ave., East Liberty. There will be improvisational performances by Soyinka and local troupe members based on the themes of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have A Dream” speech. Elizabeth Catlett

The August Wilson Center for African American Culture presents The Art of Elizabeth Catlett Exhibition from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at 980 Liberty Ave., Cultural District. The exhibit displays approximately 40 sculptures, serigraphs, linocuts, woodcuts and painting from Samella Lewis’ collection of works from this renowned African American artist. It is also includes works from Lewis and Francisco Mora. The exhibit, which explores the nature of Catlett’s art and ability to affect both individual lives and political movements, will run through Sept. 13. For more information, call 412-258-2700.
