‘WE WERE THERE’—Some of the beautiful people who attended the Grace Security First Anniversary party.

Last month, in a festive celebration at the Savoy Restaurant in the Strip District, Strothers, her staff of 11, and her business partner commemorated their first year in business.  All the pertinent players were on hand to congratulate and celebrate with her.  Attendees included Hill House President and CEO  Cheryl Hall-Russell, it’s CFO Jeff Anderson, Urban Innovation21 President and CEO Generett, and more than 100 other well wishers and supporters.

When Hall-Russell was asked why she felt it was important she be at this first year celebration, she said, “Barb was the first person I met when I took the helm of the Hill House, she later shared with me her vision of business ownership, first with trepidation then with obvious pride, I enjoyed supporting her because she is an amazing person and I loved the glint in her eye as her dream came closer to reality.”

As the head of Urban Innovation21, Generett played a significant role in helping to usher Strothers through the process of entrepreneurship and feels especially excited about having been able to watch her transition over the past couple years.  He said this celebration is important because of the example she and her partner have set for others.  He said, “Barb and Clyde are an example of what can happen when you stay committed and do everything possible to make it work.

Some time businesses work for a variety of reasons; Barb was successful in part because she started a business in an industry she was familiar with and one in which she had experience.  At the same time, the Hill House demonstrated a willingness to work with a staff person who had already been in place—Hat’s off to them for having such incite and the inclination to see it through. As a result, for Barbara–it was a prime case of Preparation meeting Opportunity—here is a lesson here for others.”

Strothers and Manns felt that commemorating this milestone was necessary, Strothers, always a person who understands the need to keep growing, has recently acquired her License for and was sworn in as a certified Private Investigator.
