Sickle Cell Symposium
AUG. 7—Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC will host the Sickle Celle Disease Symposium from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the John G. Rangos Sr. Research Center, Children’s Hospital of Pgh of UPMC, 4401 Penn Ave., Bloomfield. Topics for the symposium include Sickle Cell Disease and the Brain, Hydroxyurea, an Update on Pulmonary Hypertension in Sickle Cell Disease, and more. AUG. 9—Sisters Saving Ourselves Now will host its 2nd Annual Family Summit at the Community College of Allegheny County, South Campus, 1750 Clairton Rd., West Mifflin. National and local speakers will address critical issues facing Allegheny County families through educational workshops and panel discussions.
