FABULOUS IN BLUE—Caleb Richardson III and Frani Brown

Celebrations are so much fun and they seem to blend so well with great weather. This is the time of year for outdoor parties, proms and milestone birthdays. The New Pittsburgh Courier was privileged to catch some of our readers enjoying some very special moments.

Jasmine Bailey, Penn Hills class of 2013, and her date Josh Lockridge attended the Penn Hills prom and looked striking in yellow and white. Brother and sister, Conor and Caleb Richardson III, both attended the Carlynton High School prom. Conor was escorted by Delsean Hart and Caleb was accompanied by Frani Brown. Proms are such a rite of passage.

For many young ladies this is their first gown and for the young men their first tuxedo.

Recently we stopped by three milestone birthdays. People like to go the extra mile with a milestone birthday. It is not unusual on their special day to see them arriving in a limousine, hiring a band and a DJ, multiple cakes and special favors. Laura Gayle Mitchell and her daughter, Araminta Janai Dendy, were born on the same day. Mitchell celebrated her 50th while Dendy celebrated her 17th birthday at the same event. Ernie Groover held a grand outdoor bash celebrating 60 and Lynette May hosted dozens of friends for her special birthday in Monroeville. It seemed like that old cliché was echoed at each event “a good time was had by all.”
