CUBM celebrates Urban Heroes program

URBAN HEROES—The Center for Urban Biblical Ministry of Geneva College, held its annual award ceremony at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, in Shadyside. The Urban Heroes program was founded in 2011 to honor those in the western Pennsylvania community who serve with distinction, day in and day out. This year’s class includes people from the profit and non-profit world, some who work in churches and some who attend churches. Some are Pastors and others are media hosts and students. Above, not in order, are awardees: Nancy Bolden, Charles Chapman, Earlene Coleman, Etta Cox, Elaine Effort, Rockwell Dillaman, Sylvia Fields, Ed Gainey, Vivian Hewitt, Diane Hobson, Lee Howard, Geraldine Jones, Shaunda Miles, Mitchel Nickols, Stuart P. Simpson, John H. White, Richard Wingfield, John Stanko and Karla Threadgill Byrd. Not present is Valerie Dixon. (Photos by Rossano P. Stewart)
