The most important part of the inauguration was what they were wearing. Michelle Obama has become such a trend setter that all eyes were on her Jan. 21.
Not that it matters but I totally approved of her coat by Thom Browne. You may have noticed when she went to church in the morning the belt, gloves and the boots were missing.
Later in the day the belt and gloves appeared along with the fitted leg wear. When I saw FLOTUS initially I was thinking a pair of red gloves would really set off the coat. I’m glad she added the burgundy gloves and she loves her belts, this one was by J.Crew.
The first daughters were so age appropriate in their wool princess cut coats.
I remember wearing similar coats when I was their age. I would have loved to see FLOTUS in a hat from time to time. It seems everyone was little more comfortable this time around.
In the morning FLOTUS got out of the beast with a funny look on her face, later that day in the parade viewing booth she was caught scratching her head and the president was chewing gum. Before their father took the oath of office the girlsoo were dancing and moving like they were listening to music.
Let’s fast forward to the ball. FLOTUS selected another Jason Wu design. This time in red, I didn’t like his design four years ago and was not impressed with the red gown this year either. I have seen Mrs. Obama look so beautiful in so many other dresses. We are so fortunate to be able to watch four more years of FLOTUS fashion.
