I so love the color grey.
Since I began wearing platinum hair I have added many shades of grey to my wardrobe.
Recently I selected a beautiful shade of pewter for my nails. I see that Michele Obama was a step ahead of me. Last year she was spotted wearing a light shade of grey polish. Reportedly it’s the nail polish that launched a thousand manicures!
First Lady Michelle Obama caught everyone’s attention at the Democratic National Convention with her light slate nails, and an amazing speech to boot. We picked our favorite options for recreating the look, but yesterday, the White House confirmed that Artistic Nail Design’s Vogue was the official shade. (Sidenote: We love that the White House officially speaks on these matters.)
We thought it was the perfect accent to her Tracy Reese dress, and the designer agrees. “We think about nails all the time! In fact, we develop exclusive shades for our shows every season,” Reese said on The Today Show. “It’s become the new accessory, and it’s something everyone can access.”
The cement hue is a soak-off gel lacquer that hardens to a glossy finish when cured under an LED light. Plus, it’s priced at only $16! Head over to artisticnaildesign.com to find a retailer near you. Or stop by your local cosmetic retailer for all shades of grey.
Happy belated birthday Mrs. Obama.
