AUGUST HOMICIDES (14)
AUG. 1—Brandon Jones Sr., a 35-year-old Black male from Wilkinsburg, was shot to death outside his home in the 500 block of Coal Street in Wilkinsburg. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No one has been charged; the investigation is ongoing.
AUG. 2—Jamar Finn, a 19-year-old Black male from Homestead, was fatally shot and killed when shots were fired through the window of his home in the 100 block of East 10th Street in Homestead. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No one has been charged; the investigation is ongoing.
AUG. 3—George Langley, an 18-year-old White male from McKeesport, was fatally shot in the chest during a home invasion in the 700 block of Liberty Way in Port Vue. Langley and another man allegedly went to the home with the intent of robbing a man who was growing marijuana in his home. Langley was taken to UPMC McKeesport, where he later died. No one has been charged with the shooting, but the shooter is facing unrelated charges.
AUG. 5—Tameko Wall, a 37-year-old Black male from McKeesport, was found with a gunshot wound to the head in the parking lot of a car wash near the Sportsman’s Club in the 2400 block of East Fifth Avenue in McKeesport. An incident had allegedly taken place. Wall was taken to UPMC McKeesport, where he later died. Vondre Griffin has been charged with criminal homicide and carrying a firearm without a license. He is awaiting trial.
AUG. 6—Jabar Ford, a 20-year-old Black male from McKeesport, was fatally shot in the chest when answering a knock at the door of his home on Coursin Street in McKeesport. He was reportedly shot when he looked through the peep hole of the door. He was taken to UPMC McKeesport, where he later died. No one has been charged; the investigation is ongoing.
AUG. 7—Brandon Johns, an 18-year-old Black male from North Braddock, was shot multiple times during a drug deal gone wrong at the Brinton Manor Apartments on Brinton Road in Braddock Hills. Several men allegedly tried to rob Johns while he was selling them marijuana. Eugene McCarthy has been charged with homicide, along with several other charges. He is awaiting trial.
AUG. 9—Timothy Boyd, a 41-year-old Black male from Wilkinsburg, was found by police with multiple gunshot wounds in the 1100 block of Pitt Street in Wilkinsburg. Boyd had reportedly been walking home in the early morning. He was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, where he later died. No one has been charged; the investigation is ongoing.
AUG. 12—Charles Davis, an 18-year-old Black male from North Versailles, was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds on the sidewalk outside a vacant house in the 600 block of Mehaffey Avenue in Duquesne. His body was allegedly dumped after being shot somewhere else. No one has been charged; the investigation is ongoing.
AUG. 21—Robert Murphy, a 25-year-old Black male from East Pittsburgh, was fatally shot and found in the driver’s seat of a car that had crashed into another on East 10th Avenue in Munhall. He was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital, where he later died. No one has been charged; the investigation is ongoing.
AUG. 25—Emery Lamberto, a 15-year-old Black male from Wilkinsburg, was shot multiple times near the corner of Wallace Avenue and Coal Street in Wilkinsburg. Two others were injured by shots. Lamberto was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, where he later died. No one has been charged; the investigation is ongoing.
AUG. 25—Harold Young, a 17-year-old Black male from the Hill District, was found by police, fatally shot in the chest in the 2200 block of Bedford Avenue in the Hill District. Young was pronounced dead at the scene. No one has been charged; the investigation is ongoing.
AUG. 25—Gary Hager, a 46-year-old White male from Ross Township, was fatally shot in the torso during an argument in the parking lot of the Quick Stop convenience store in Lawrenceville. Hager had allegedly approached a vehicle occupied by Darrell Tigney and his son, Maurice Tigney. After words were exchanged, Hager left to go back to his car when Darrell Tigney got out of his vehicle and began a physical confrontation, followed by Maurice Tigney allegedly getting out of the vehicle and shooting Hager. Hager was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital, where he later died. Both Tigneys have been charged with criminal homicide.
AUG. 26—Daimond Hill, a 19-year-old Black male from Beltzhoover, was fatally shot in the chest while standing in front of his home at the intersection of Curtin and Climax Streets in Beltzhoover. He was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital, where he later died. Deshawn Nelson is charged with criminal homicide. He is awaiting his trial.
AUG. 27—Susan Hammond, a 24-year-old Black female from North Versailles, was found by a tenant with a gunshot wound to the head in between two cars in the parking lot of the Versailles Castle apartment complex in the 2100 block of Patricia Lane, in North Versailles, where she lived. Hammond was a mother. No one has been charged; the investigation is ongoing.
SEPTEMBER HOMICIDES (7)
SEPT. 1—George Cox Jr., a 22-year-old Black male from Pittsburgh, was found dead in an abandoned residential property on Shuman Street, in Wilkinsburg, after authorities received calls from neighbors about a smell; Cox’ body had begun to decompose. No one has been charged; the investigation is ongoing.
SEPT. 3—Larry Andrews, a 74-year-old White male from Mt. Washington, died from blunt force trauma due to an incident Aug. 15. Andrews, also reported as Lawrence Andrews, had been beaten in the head in the 700 block of East Warrington Ave., in Allentown, and died several weeks later at a local hospital. No one has been charged; the investigation is ongoing.
SEPT. 5—Elijah Washington, a 17-year-old Black male from Lincoln-Lemington, was found shot to death near the railroad tracks under the Larimer Avenue Bridge by his father and brother. His father had received a call the night before about an incident where Washington and his friends had been shot at. After finding his son did not report to school the next morning, he went looking for him. Shawn Jones has been charged with criminal homicide, robbery and criminal conspiracy. An arrest warrant has also been obtained for Tyqwan Brooks. He is on the run.
SEPT. 9—Leroy Wofford, a 59-year-old Black male from Lincoln-Lemington, was fatally shot in the chest on Sept. 8 while answering a knock at the door of his home on Broadhead Street in Lincoln-Lemington. When he opened the door he reportedly saw two males, one armed with a gun. When he tried to close the door one of the males fired a shot through the door, striking Wofford in the chest. He was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, where he later died. No one has been charged; the investigation is ongoing.
SEPT. 12—Ronald Somerville Jr., a 24-year-old Black male from Garfield, was found on the sidewalk with multiple gunshots wounds near the 5400 block of Broad Street in Garfield. He reportedly had been standing on the street when a man approached him with a gun. The two struggled over the gun and Somerville was hit several times. The shooter fled. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No one has been charged; the investigation is ongoing.
SEPT. 18—Roosevelt Robinson, a 35-year-old Black male from Wilkinsburg, was shot and killed after he urinated over a side railing of a second floor portico while playing dominos with friends at a home in the 1100 block of Franklin Avenue. Someone allegedly yelled “Yo, yo” and shots were fired striking Robinson. He was taken to UPMC Mercy; where he later died. No one has been charged; the investigation is ongoing.
SEPT. 20—Randy Lewicki, a 49-year-old White male from Knoxville, was fatally shot in his side while outside of his mother’s house in the 100 block of Jucunda Street in Knoxville. He was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital; where he later died. No one has been charged; the investigation is ongoing.
OCTOBER HOMICIDES (7)
OCT. 1—Edward Sanders, a 47-year-old Black male from the Hill District, was fatally shot in the head in the 2400 block of Chauncey Drive, in the Hill District, after a verbal altercation. He was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, where he later died. DeShawn Lee, 19, was charged with criminal homicide and carrying a firearm without a license.
OCT. 9—Anthony Dawson, a 25-year-old Black male from Wilkinsburg, was found shot to death in the head in an apartment on South Avenue in Wilkinsburg. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
OCT. 14—Ne’Ondre Harbour, a 16-year-old Black male from Garfield, was shot in the chest outside of his home on North Aiken Avenue, in Garfield, after a neighborhood altercation, in which he was not involved, broke out. He tried to run for cover, but collapsed a couple blocks away. He was taken to UPMC Presbyterian, where he later died. No one has been charged; the investigation is ongoing.
OCT. 15—Charlene Walters, a 64-year-old Black female from Verona, died from a gunshot wound to the abdomen she received Oct. 13 at a youth football game at Pittsburgh Obama School in East Liberty. Walters had been watching her grandchild play when shots erupted. She was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, where she died days later. No one has been charged; the investigation is ongoing.
OCT. 16—Ronald Duff, a 60-year-old White male from Harrison Township, died from injuries he received while being beaten to death by his caretakers, one of whom was his younger brother, in his home on Blue Ridge Avenue in Harrison Township. Duff, who was mentally disabled, had several injuries to his head, trunk and ribs. Larry Duff and Jason Link have been charged with criminal homicide, assault and neglect of care for a dependent person. Lisa Duff, Larry Duff’s wife, was charged with simple assault, neglect of care for a dependent person and tampering with evidence. They are awaiting trial.
OCT. 16—Donald Cheeks, a 49-year-old Black male from Arlington Heights, was found in the street in the 6600 block of Deary Street, in Larimer, with multiple gunshot wounds to the head and chest. He was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, where he later died. No one has been charged; the investigation is ongoing.
OCT. 21—Rudolf Freeman, a 20-year-old Black male from McKees Rocks, was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and torso on the back patio of a home in the 5300 block of Mossfield Boulevard in Garfield. He had been visiting some friends and left to meet someone. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No one has been charged; the investigation is ongoing. He has also been identified as Rudolph Freeman.
NOVEMBER HOMICIDES (5)
NOV. 4—Kimberly Conway, a 33-year-old White female from Baldwin, was found dead with a gunshot wound after authorities had responded to a call at her home on Meadowcrest Road in Baldwin. There had allegedly been a domestic incident between her and her husband, Benjamin Conway. It has been reported that he was also found at the home with self-inflicted wounds. Benjamin Conway is charged with criminal homicide and is awaiting trial.
NOV. 4—Raynna Church, a 31-year-old Black female from Penn Hills, was found dead in a car after someone opened fire on the vehicle in the 7100 block of Monticello Street in Homewood. There was also another vehicle that was riddled with bullets and two males were injured. No one has been charged; the investigation is ongoing.
NOV. 14—Elizabeth Cannon, a 21-year-old White female from Stowe Township, was fatally shot in the head in her home in the 1500 block of Broadway Avenue in Stowe Township. Her ex-boyfriend, or boyfriend in some reports, Daniel Andrew Sheets, allegedly shot Cannon and then tried to kill himself with gas fumes, but did not succeed. It was an apparent murder-suicide. Sheets has been charged with criminal homicide and risking a catastrophe. He is awaiting trial.
NOV. 18—Demaun Kenny, a 21-year-old Black male from Homewood, was found with multiple gunshot wounds on the kitchen floor of an East Hills home in the 2250 block of East Hills Drive. Kenny was found by authorities when they heard gunshots while investigating another incident a short distance away. Kenny was pronounced dead at the scene. No one has been charged; the investigation is ongoing.
NOV. 29—Solomon Burton, a 25-year-old Black male from Mt. Lebanon, was fatally shot as he attempted to enter an apartment at 4741 Butler St., in Lawrenceville. He was found lying on the ground. He had multiple gunshot wounds, including two to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No one has been charged; the investigation is ongoing.
