Prayer Breakfast

OCT. 6—Garden City United Methodist Church, 500 Laurel Dr., Monroeville, will host its 3rd Annual Women’s Prayer Breakfast from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Garden City Fire Hall #6, 600 Garden City Dr., Garden City. The theme is “Arise Women of God.” The guest speaker will be Rev. June Jeffries, along with Sheldon Ingram as the master of ceremony. The cost is $25. For more information, call 412-373-0391.

Women’s Day

OCT. 7—Ebenezer Baptist Church, 2001 Wylie Ave., Hill District, will host its Annual Women’s Day at 8 a.m. The theme is “Women of Principle.” The guest will be Rev. Crystal Chinn. There will also be a 10:30 a.m. service with Rev. Taleeta Canady, First Lady of Rodman Street Missionary Baptist Church. First Sundays

OCT. 7—Tori Walker and Eric Blackwell will host Sundays Gospel Jazz Jam Session at 4 p.m. at Cabaret Hall, 7928 Frankstown Ave., Homewood. The first Sunday of every month guests will have the opportunity to enjoy music from various artists. It can be gospel, secular, instrumental or poetry as long as it plants a positive seed. Fall Revival

Usher Seminar

OCT. 13—Morningside COGIC, 5173 Dearborn St., Garfield, will host an Usher Seminar from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Topics that will be discussed include the Role of the Usher, Techniques, Apparel, Etiquette, Code of Conduct and more. Music on the Hill

OCT. 13—Beulah Presbyterian Church, 2500 McCrady Rd., Churchill, will host its 2012 Music on the Hill Concert Series at 4 p.m. This is the last session of the series and the theme will be “All that Jazz!” The concert will feature Robert Morehead, who will perform a variety of jazz standards and favorites including music by Duke Ellington and others. Financial Peace University

ONGOING—Beulah Presbyterian Church, 2500 McCrady Rd., Churchill, will host its Financial Peace University at 7 p.m. This is a financial course taught by Dave Ramsey and his FPU team via video to help individuals achieve their financial goals by showing them how to eliminate debt, save for the future and give like never before. They will also touch on how to deal with debt, build wealth and invest for the future. The classes will be held every Sunday and registration is required.
