Vacation Bible School

Christmas in August

AUG. 10—Bidwell Street United Presbyterian Church, 1025 Liverpool St., North Side, will host its 3rd annual Christmas in August Festival. A retro-fashion show will be held at 7 p.m. There will also be a festival from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Aug. 11, that will include vendors, games, food and a Chinese Auction. Youth/Young Adult Revival

AUG. 10—Morningside COGIC, 5173 Dearborn St., Garfield, will host its One Night Youth & Young Adult Revival at 7 p.m. The guest speaker will be Minister George Logan, along with special singers Minister Curtis Lewis Jr., Sister Debbie Hollis & Group and the Light Cathedral Ministries Mime Groups. Women’s Conference

AUG. 10—The King’s Daughter’s Ministry of Morning Star Baptist Church, 812 Oak St., West Mifflin, will host its “Women Coming Together to Do a New Thing in Christ” Women’s Conference at 7 p.m. This is a three-day conference that will include guest speakers Rev. June Jefferies, Rev. Brenda Gregg and Rev. Shelia Hunt. There will be an all day session on Aug. 11 featuring workshops, a panel discussion, vendors and more. Registration is requested. Biblical Breakfast Series

AUG. 11—Trinity AME Church, 2700 Wylie Ave., Hill District, will host their 2012 Summer Biblical Breakfast Series from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The theme is “Love.” Every second Saturday of the month a guest preacher will bring a Word based on the theme. Anniversary/Family & Friends Day

AUG. 12—St. James AME Church, 444 Lincoln Ave., East Liberty, will host its 146th Church Anniversary/Family and Friends Day Celebration at 10 a.m. The theme was “The Power of Prayer.” There will be a dynamic message delivered by Rev. Pastoral anniversary

AUG. 12—Tried Stone Baptist Church, 505 Washington St., Aliquippa, will host its First Pastoral Anniversary Celebration at 11 a.m. This is the first anniversary of Pastor Troy D. Sligh and First Lady Carletta Sligh. He will also celebrate 18 years in the ministry. The theme is “Moving Forward.” The guest speaker will be Rev. Ezra Lowe.
