Church revival

AUG. 2—Northside Institutional COGIC, 302 W. North Ave., North Side, will host a Spiritual Restoration Revival at 7:30 p.m. The revival, which runs through Aug. 3, will give attendees the four R’s-being restored, renewed, refreshed and revived. Back to School celebration

AUG. 4—The Education Department of Pentecostal Temple COGIC, 6300 East Liberty Blvd., East Liberty, will host its 5th annual Back to School Celebration from 1-4 p.m. The theme is “I Got Your Back” and is for all youth in the local community. First Sundays

AUG. 4—Tori Walker and Eric Blackwell will host the First Sundays Gospel Jazz Jam Session at 4 p.m. at Cabaret Hall, 7928 Frankstown Ave., Homewood. The first Sunday of every month guests will have the opportunity to enjoy music from various artists. It can be gospel, secular, instrumental or poetry as long as it plants a positive seed. Gospel legends celebration

AUG. 4—The Western Region of the Pennsylvania Chapter, Beaver County, of the Gospel Music Workshop of America will host The Gospel Legends of Beaver County & Vicinity Concert at 6 p.m. at the Greater Faith Family Worship Center, 2033 Midland/Beaver Rd., Industry. This is a celebration of some of Beaver County & Vicinity’s gospel legends. Honorees will be Joann Cox, Pastor Joe Freeman, John Hosley, Iola Morris, Willie Scott and Greg Tymous. Bible Study

Christmas in August

AUG. 10—Bidwell Street United Presbyterian Church, 1025 Liverpool St., North Side, will host its 3rd annual Christmas in August Festival. A retro-fashion show will be held at 7 p.m. There will also be a festival from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Aug. 11, and will include vendors, games, food and a Chinese Auction. This is for the continued mission of the church and to complete the installation of stained glass in the sanctuary window. Biblical Breakfast Series

AUG. 11—Trinity AME Church, 2700 Wylie Ave., Hill District, will host their 2012 Summer Biblical Breakfast Series from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The theme is “Love.” Every second Saturday of the month a guest preacher will bring a Word based on the theme. Anniversary/Family & Friends Day
