Vacation Bible School

JULY 27—Lost But Not Forgotten Outreach will host a Youth Revival at 6:30 p.m. at Enon Baptist Church, 110 Erin St., Hill District. The theme is “Youth Stand Up for Christ” and the Word will be delivered by Rev. Shirley Lysle of Macedonia Baptist Church. Youth will enjoy a youthful fellowship, music, poetry and spoken word. JULY 28—Miracle Ministries/Beaver College of Theology, 115 Wilker St., Aliquippa, will host and Open House and Registration Event from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Miracle School of Ministry, 702 Davis St., Aliquippa. The school is a satellite extension of the North Carolina College of Theology. This is an opportunity for interested individuals to learn about the programs offered and to register for the fall 2012-2013 semester. The event will also take place on Aug. 18. JULY 28—The Ruth Women’s Missionary Society of Bethel AME Church, 2720 Webster Ave., Hill District, will host its Annual Missionary Weekend. On July 28 there will be a Luncheon from 12-3 p.m. with Rev. Margaret Tyson and Rev. Carmen Holt. Also, on July 29 there will be a Morning Service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Steven A. Back to School Celebration
AUG. 4-The Education Department of Pentecostal Temple COGIC, 6300 East Liberty Blvd., East Liberty, will host its 5th annual Back to School Celebration from 1-4 p.m. The theme is “I Got Your Back” and is for all youth in the local community. AUG. 4—Tori Walker and Eric Blackwell will host Sundays Gospel Jazz Jam Session at 4 p.m. at Cabaret Hall, 7928 Frankstown Ave., Homewood. The first Sunday of every month guests will have the opportunity to enjoy music from various artists. It can be gospel, secular, instrumental or poetry as long as it plants a positive seed. Christmas in August
AUG. 10—Bidwell Street United Presbyterian Church, 1025 Liverpool St., North Side, will host its 3rd annual Christmas in August Festival. A retro-fashion show will be held at 7 p.m. There will also be a festival from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Aug. 11, and will include vendors, games, food and a Chinese Auction. This is for the continued mission of the church and to complete the installation of stained glass in the sanctuary window.
