This week I visited the August Wilson Center for African American Culture in downtown Pittsburgh; CJ’s in the Strip District; The Red Onion and Tim’s Bar, both in the Hill District; The Shadow Lounge and Tana’s Ethiopian Cuisine in East Liberty; and House of Manna’s 3rd Annual Prayer for Peace March in Homewood.

My first stop was at the August Wilson Center for African American Culture in Downtown Pittsburgh where the Urban League Young Professionals of Greater Pittsburgh held its 10th Anniversary Celebration featuring actor Boris Kodjoe.

My next stop was at CJ’s in the Strip District where DJ Nick Nice had everyone on the dance floor partying the night away.

My next stop was at the Red Onion in the Hill District where birthday girl Jackie celebrated her special day with family and friends.

My next stop was at the Tana’s Ethiopian Cuisine where they held their weekly “Wednesday Night Jazz Session and Jam Night,” featuring local musicians and singers.

My final destination was at House of Manna’s 3rd Annual Prayer for Peace March in Homewood where residents came together to pray for the healing of the Homewood community.
