The Families United Celebration sponsored by the Allegheny County Department of Human Services Office of Children, Youth and Families invited Allegheny County families to gather for a day of events, music and fun to celebrate and recognize that families are the foundation of our community and the stronghold that protects and nurtures our children.

FAMILY UNITED—Damela Freeman, helps her children T’Lajia Goins, 8, and Raymond Freeman, 4, decorate paper hats at the Families United Celebration, an annual event organized by the Department of Human Services to celebrate and recognize that families are the foundation of our community.

This event was free and open to the public. There was live music and other entertainment, including obstacle courses, pony rides and children’s crafts. This event drew around 2,000 participants and 150 volunteers at Schenley Park Ice Skating Rink.
