DJ Stephan

Photography Exhibit

The Carnegie Museum of Art presents “Picturing the City: Downtown Pittsburgh. 2007-2010” at 4400 Forbes Ave., Oakland. This exhibit features 86 recent images from nine contemporary photographers who call this city their home. The photographs record a Downtown where people, buildings and landscapes have been altered dramatically in the wake of $2 billion in public and private development projects. Fantastic Fridays

Jay G & Big D presents Galaxy’s Fantastic Fridays from 9 p.m.-2 a.m. at Club Galaxy, 7246 Kelly St., Homewood. Tracy Lee will host this event with DJ Matt G on the 1’s and 2’s. There will be tight security and ladies are free from 9-10 p.m. For more information, call 412-727-1395.

Romare Bearden

The August Wilson Center for African American Culture presents the “Romare Bearden the Last Years: Photographs by Frank Stewart” exhibition from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at 980 Liberty Ave., Cultural District. This is a showcase of award-winning photographer Stewart who captured Bearden’s life over a 13-year period. The exhibit will run through Oct. 31. For more information, call 412-338-8730.

Jazz Live

Interval

AVA Lounge presents Live Jazz with The Interval Trio & Friends at 8:30 p.m. at 126 S. Highland Ave., East Liberty. Every Monday DJ J. Malls will be spinning jazz vinyls, followed by an open jam session. Also from 5:30-8:30 p.m. there will be a pre-Interval happy hour featuring the sounds of DJ Stephan. Must be 21 years or older. Exhibit Opening

The Carnegie Museum of Art presents “Teenie Harris, Photographer: An American Story” at the museum’s Heinz Galleries, 4400 Forbes Ave., Oakland. This is an exhibit about famous photographer Charles “Teenie” Harris and will feature thousands of his classic and historic photos. There will also be life size projections combined with a newly commissioned jazz soundtrack. The exhibit will run through April 7, 2012. For more information, visit http://www.cmoa.org.
