Strawberry fest

JUNE 10—Shadyside Presbyterian Church, 5121 Westminster Place, Shadyside, will host its Strawberry Festival from 5:30-8:30 p.m. This will be a traditional evening of fun, games and delicious food to celebrate the impending arrival of summer and support for the non-profit organization, Sojourner House MOMS. Holy convocation

JUNE 10—The Pennsylvania Diocese Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith Inc. will host its “Apostolic Explosion” Holy Convocation at 7:30 p.m. at EL-BethEL Temple Church, 800 South Ave., Wilkinsburg. The two-day meeting, June 10-11, will include guest speakers Elder Dane Clark and Bishop Raymond Keith with music by Zion Apostolic Church, the Western Pennsylvania District Choir and the Pennsylvania State Choir.

Banquet

JUNE 11—First AME Church, 177 Mitchell Ave., Clairton, will host a New Beginning Banquet at 5 p.m. at Rostraver Ice Garden, 101 Gillitin Rd., Belle Vernon. Bishop C. Garnett Henning Sr., presiding prelate of the Third District of the AME church will be the guest speaker, along with Rev. Dr. Jerome Stevenson and Rev. William C. Callaway. Taken & shaken

JUNE 12—Greater Works Outreach, 301 College Dr., Monroeville, will host the Taken & Shaken: Turning Tragedy into Triumph message series at 9 a.m. The topic will be “Pain Relief.” Every Sunday in June, the series will focus on various topics to help individuals cope with trials and tribulations. Pastoral anniversary

JUNE 12—Second Baptist Church, 324 Mansfield Blvd., Carnegie, will host a Pastoral Anniversary Celebration at 11 a.m. This is the 5th Pastoral Anniversary of Rev. E. LaRue Davis. The guest speaker will be Rev. John McKenney of Virginia. There will be a banquet on June 11 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Noreen Adams as the guest preacher.
