Youth journey

MARCH 3—House of Manna Urban Faith Journey will host their Youth Journey at 7 p.m. at the Homewood Brushton YMCA, 7140 Bennett St., Homewood. Every Thursday middle and high school students will come together to learn how to walk with Jesus Christ. Registration is requested. Day of prayer

MARCH 4—East End Churches will host the World Day of Prayer Celebration at 11 a.m. at East Liberty Presbyterian Church, 116 S. Highland Ave., East Liberty. Women from Lincoln Avenue Church of God, Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, Baptist Temple and various Presbyterian churches will lead this year’s ecumenical service prayer and praise. Lunch will be served. Classical concert

MARCH 5—The Pittsburgh Concert Chorale will host a Classical Concert at 8 p.m. at Ingomar United Methodist Church, 1501 W. Ingomar Rd., Franklin Park. Franz Joseph Haydn’s “The Creation” will be performed with the Academy Chamber Orchestra and a guest soloist. There will also be a performance on March 6 at 4 p.m. at Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church. Bible courses

MARCH 7—Macedonia Baptist Church, 2225 Bedford Ave., Hill District, will host their beginning of the Macedonia School of Ministry and Bible Institute from 7-8:30 p.m.  There will be weekly sessions, through April, on how to study the Bible. This course is for beginners, regulars, teachers and preachers of the Word of God. There will also be two other courses available on “Blessed Are You…” and the Introduction to Christian Theology I. Rejoice

MARCH 12—Cabaret will host Rejoice at 5 p.m. at 7928 Frankstown Ave., Wilkinsburg. This is an elegant evening of gospel and Inspirational music with live performances from Voices for Christ, Frederick Dukes Jr., Keith Owens, Ranika Sanchez Chaney and other. Young gifted and Black

MARCH 12—The Young Adult Christian Ministry of St. Mark AMEZ Church will host their 4th Annual Young, Gifted and Black Award Dinner at 4:30 p.m. at Churchill Country Club, 800 Beulah Rd., Churchill. Young adults ages 21-41 will be honored for their service in their community, church and profession. Judge Dwayne Woodruff will be the guest speaker. Tickets are $35. Jerk/jerkette seminar

MARCH 12—The Singles Café and TwoGether Pittsburgh will host the “How to Avoid Falling For a Jerk or Jerkette” seminar from 5-8 p.m. at Panera Bread, 5430 Centre Ave., Shadyside. Pastoral anniversary

MARCH 9—Triedstone Baptist Church, 18 Harriet St., Rankin, will host the Pre-Pastoral Anniversary at 7 p.m. Reverend Nathaniel Pennybaker will celebrate seven years with his congregation. There will be services through March 12. Guests include Bishop Michael Golphin, Rev. Rodney A. Lyde and Rev. June Jefferies. There will also be a concert on March 12 at 5 p.m. featuring Aaron Clark and Ministry. The Pastoral Anniversary will be on March 13 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Darryl Grayson and dinner will follow. The celebration will then continue at 5 p.m. at New Hope Church in Braddock with Rev. Dr. William H. Curtis, Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, as the guest preacher. Day trip

APRIL 16—Antioch Baptist Church, 322 Elizabeth St., Sewickley, will host a day bus trip to the play “Joseph” from 5:30 a.m.-10 p.m. at the Sight and Sound Theater, 300 Hartman Bridge Rd., Lancaster. This is a trip to see the popular play based on the classic story of Joseph. Reservations are required. The cost is $70 for children, $96 for teens and $122 for adults, which includes dinner, transportation and the show ticket. There will also be stops for breakfast and lunch.
