The Carrick boys’ basketball team is still rolling strong as the surprise team in the City League with a perfect 5-0 conference mark. They are 8-3 overall.

Allderdice coach, Andre McDonald called it out in our League preview that ran back in the Dec. 1 edition, saying:”I think Carrick is going to shock some people this year. They’ll have some good athletes and will hang in there from what I’ve seen out of certain players over the summer.”

His Dragons, the league’s defending champs, have the best mark at 6-0 in the conference. One of their first true tests will come this week, when they face Perry, who is also unbeaten in the City, in the 2010 title game re-match on the Commodores’ home court.

League results:

(Friday, Jan. 14)
