Revival

FEB. 18—St. Mark AMEZ Church, 807 Ross Ave., Wilkinsburg, will host a Revival at 7 p.m. The guest preacher will be Rev. Richard C. Chapple Jr. of First AMEZ Church in Los Angeles. The revival will lead up to the celebration of the First Pastoral Anniversary of Rev. Lamar D. Lee Jr. and First Lady Vada. The revival will run through Feb. 19. Oratorical competition

FEB. 20—Hightower Scholars Inc. will host their Hightower Early Success Scholarship Oratorical Competition at 1 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 1150 Fourth Ave., New Kensington. Local middle school students will bring their essays to life through an oral presentation to win a college scholarship. There will be a light lunch provided after the program. Urban League Sunday

FEB. 21—The Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh will host their 25th Annual Urban League Sunday at 4 p.m. at Pentecostal Temple COGIC, 6300 East Liberty Blvd., East Liberty. The keynote speaker will be Rev. Dr. Harold Carter Sr. of New Shiloh Baptist Church in Maryland. There will be a pre-concert by DaMarra Chanel and songs from the Church in the Round Concert Choir. Pre-pastoral anniversary

MARCH 6—Triedstone Baptist Church of Rankin, 18 Harriet St., Rankin, will host their Pre-Pastoral Anniversary Prayer Breakfast at 9 a.m. The breakfast is to kick-off the 6th pastoral anniversary celebration of Rev. Nathaniel Pennybaker and Rev. Terri Pennybaker. Their theme is “Edifying the Body in 2010.” There will also be a pre-anniversary revival March 10-12 with guest preachers Rev. DeNeice Welch, Rev. Earlene Coleman and Rev. Dr. Stephen J. Russell Jr. The Pastoral Anniversary will be March 14 at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. with Rev. Darryl Grayson and Rev. Dr. William H. Curtis. Open house

MARCH 16—The Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary will host an Open House from 8:20 a.m.-3 p.m. at 7418 Penn Ave., Point Breeze. There will be a tour, individuals will get to sit in on classes, visit with professors and students, explore financial aid options and more. Financial peace

ONGOING—Rodman Outreach Corp. will host their Financial Peace University Orientation at 10 a.m. at Rodman Street Missionary Baptist Church, 6111 Rodman St., East Liberty. This financial workshop will teach individuals how to make a budget; how to get out of debt; how to communicate with one’s spouse about the finances; how to invest with confidence; and how to change one’s financial future. The class materials cost $130, there is assistance available for certain income guidelines and  a deposit is required.
