Detroit NAACP head receives Community Leadership Award

DETROIT—Reverend Dr. Wendell Anthony, president, Detroit Branch NAACP, recently received the Excellence in Community Leadership Award during the first Advocates and Leaders for Police and Community Trust banquet. He was awarded this honor for his perseverance and commitment to the advancement of diversity, community and humanity. U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder served as the keynote speaker for the banquet.

My desire to serve is based on a commitment to provide freedom, justice and equality to all people regardless of race, ethnicity or gender.”
