Jazz jam

CJ’s Restaurant & Lounge presents “The Roger Humphries & RH Factor Jazz Jam Session” at 8 p.m. at 2901-2911 Penn Ave., Strip District. There will be live jazz and fun every Thursday night. ‘Two Trains Running’

The August Wilson Center for African American Culture presents “Two Trains Running” at 1 p.m. at the August Wilson Center Theater, 980 Liberty Ave., Cultural District. This is part of Wilson’s Aunt Ester Cycle, which features plays with the Aunt Ester character. Jazz collaboration

The Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild Jazz presents Stanley Jordan and Jake Shimabukuro at 7 p.m. at the MCG Jazz Hall, 1815 Metropolitan St., Manchester. This is a jazz collaboration with the Guitar Society of Fine Art. An exciting double bill features each artist in the venerated solo format. The guitar wizardry of Jordan has taken the sonic pallet of the instrument to a new level. Hawaiian-born Shimabukuro performs with his native ukulele and is renowned for lightning-fast fingers and revolutionary playing techniques. Literary bindings

The United Black Book Clubs of Pittsburgh presents the Literary Bindings Series from 1-3 p.m. at the Homewood Branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, 2nd floor, 7101 Hamilton Ave., Homewood.
