Fashion on the water was the last official event to wear your casual, cool and comfortable white outfit. At least that is what the flyer said. We spotted a few people after Labor Day in white who didn’t get the memo but that’s cool—rumor has it they were headed to Vegas.
|THE PRESENTERS —Bill Neal and Gwen Missouri.
This well attended event took place Sept. 3 at the Fox Chapel Yacht Club. The crowd had no problem leaving work, stopping by the house to change clothes and heading to Fox Chapel for the last summer blast of fashion, music and dance. This Pittsburgh white party was presented by Five Star Corp., Q Productions and the Soul Pitt.
As you approached the yacht club a collection of Corvettes owned by members of United Rays Corvette Club were on display. Corvettes and yachts are a sure sign of a classy event on a warm summer’s night.
Once inside there were numerous vendors including fashionable hats by Cindy Burn of Fedora Pittsburgh (www.fedora Pittsburgh.blogspot.com). The crowd mingled and enjoyed the sounds provided by deejay Sly Jock.
HEADING TO THE STAGE
(fashion show model).
Line dance professor, Roland Ford, was on the dock leading ladies and gents in one of many line dances. Bill Neal, president and CEO of Five Star Corp., honored Eddie Drummond of the Pittsburgh Steelers right before the centerpiece of the evening got under way, a fashion show featuring the Alexandria Models and the Diamond Models. The models walked through the audience making their way to the stage to show off some outstanding multi-seasonal fashions. Even a few members of the Pittsburgh Passion suited up and strutted their stuff.
The last blast of summer was sponsored by Neal General Contracting, the New Pittsburgh Courier, Amway Global, United Rays Corvette Club and Red Bull.
