RECOGNITION DINNER—The Mount Ararat Baptist Church Community Activity Center’s Recognition Celebration hosted their 11th Annual Recognition Dinner Sept. 4 honoring Charlie Batch, Cliff Benson, the Hon. Kim B Clark, Ophelia Coleman and Joy Starzl, at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. The fund-raiser began with a silent auction and dinner. Harold Hayes from KDKA-TV was the host. Some of the board of directors are shown above.

Special worship service

SEPT. 23—East Liberty Presbyterian Church, 116 S. Highland Ave., East Liberty, will host the International Day of Peace Special Worship Service at 7 p.m. This is in commemoration of the International Day of Peace and the G-20 Summit. Music workshop

SEPT. 23—Unity Baptist Church, 1023 Talbot Ave., Braddock, will host a Music Workshop at 7 p.m. The guest facilitator will be Katim Brown. Women’s conference

SEPT. 26—Women in Christian Ministries Inc. will host a Mini Conference from 9 a.m.-2:15 p.m. at Whosoever Wills’ Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, 878 First Ave., Coraopolis. There will be praise and worship led by Minister Nina Taylor, a special musical performance by Marion Pratt and a devotional Word by Rev. Alberta Hall. The Bible teacher will be Rev. Derrick Knox. Women’s day

SEPT. 26—EL-Bethel Temple, 800 South Ave., Wilkinsburg, will host its Annual Women’s Day at 3 p.m. The theme is “Mold Me, Make Me A Vessel of Honor!” Individuals are invited to come and be blessed by Bible lessons that are taught as our guests explain the process of pottery with a live demonstration on the Potter’s Wheel. Drama troupe

Sept. 27—The International Drama Troupe His Kingdom Ministries will host a Skit Presentation at 4 p.m. at Nazareth Baptist Church, 123 N. Lincoln St., Washington. There will be six skit presentations, featuring speaker Rev. Randy Byers, for their annual Sunday School Day. There will also be a mime performance by Mount Olive Baptist Mime Ministries. Refreshments will be served.

Gospel extravaganza

Choir day

SEPT. 27—The Choirs of Mt. Shields and First Lady Evangelist Mary Shields. The theme is “For With God All Things Are Possible.” The guest speaker will be L.C. Carter, along with the choir and congregation.
